Democrats try to make a few bucks off Allen West's tirade

Allen West takes on Bill Nelson

Allen West always one a bit puzzled.

The Republican Congressman worked himself into self-righteous outrage when Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz took the House floor to talk about the GOP "cut, cap and balance" plan.

During her remarks she said: ". . .President Obama has vowed to veto this bill which ends the Medicare guarantee and incredulously the gentleman from Florida, who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase the cost for Medicare beneficiaries. Unbelievable from a member from South Florida."

When West heard about her remarks, he fired off an email to Wasserman Schultz and House leaders calling her "vile" "despicable" "unprofessional" and other choice descriptions.

West also said, "If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up."

This brings us to Florida Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. After the Senate voted not to take up the House bill today, West sent out this Tweet:

Voting to table Cut, Cap & Balance for fear of passing the Senate is a disgrace. Fl Sen Nelson and the Dems play tricks at Americans expense.

What happened to "say it to my face"?

Oh well.

Perhaps more interesting is that fact that West is taking on Nelson. Is this a hint that he is thinking about running against Nelson.

West has the money and the love 0f the Tea Party. Crowley Political Report suggested in a previous article that West might easily win the GOP primary.

Maybe West will let know if he is interested on Twitter.

In regards to the ad against Nelson, I thought it was pretty funny. I have no real issue with Nelson, but the ad was funny.

In regards to spending money on roads and infrastructure, I thought that was what the stimilus package was for. Wasn't it supposed to pay for 'shovel ready jobs'.? Truthfully, the stimilus was a clear example of what happens when the fed's decide to spend our money, it gets wasted.

And if I remember correctly, weren't the democrats complaining about all the spending Bush was doing back in the 2006 election? And the were going to do a "pay go" system? What happened to that? They got in and spent without paying for it.

And in regards to the real role of government, the real role is to protect life (military), liberty (rights) and the pursuit of happiness (limited government). Not providing bumpkis 120% mortage loans, student loans for college, cash for clunkers, and so on, and so on and so on.

And, just one last question, why when the economy tanked in 2008 and the Democrats took control of both houses of Congress and the White House why didn't they prosecute any of the culprits of the collapse? They blamed Wall Street, Banks, Bush, Republicans and everything else yet, NO ONE has been briught to testify before a Congressional Committee or charged with a crime. Why?

Did anyone see the shameless smear job on Bill Nelson this weekend?

Spenditall? Please. Despite the republican's talking points we do have a MASSIVE revenue problem. If we returned tax rates to pre Reagan we would have a surplus and no national debt what-so-ever.

Should we just not spend any money at all? Let our roads crumble? Bridges fall down? I just went last week to see the groundbreaking of a new freight rail in Miami that will create thousands of jobs and new tax payers(thanks to Senator Nelson's help), while also securing our state as an economic powerhouse in the future. Bill Nelson gets it and understands the REAL role of government isn't to slash and burn for the benefit of a few. Gov's purpose is to lay the ground work so EVERYONE can prosper with hard work.
