Alex Sink blames White House for losing to Rick Scott

Asink Democrat Alex Sink is clearly bitter about her loss to Republican Rick Scott by fewer than 62,000 votes.

In an interview with Politico, Sink blasts the White House political operation calling it and President Obama "tone-deaf."

She blames the White House for mishandling the oil spill, health care legislation and the economy.

There is nothing in the interview that suggests Sink believes she did anything wrong.  She is clearly irritated that she lost the Florida governor's race to someone who she believes has, at best, questionable ethics.

And, of course Sink is certain that her loss was part of the largely "tsunami" that swept anyway scores of Democats around the country.

That's a large part of the answer but Sink's campaign team was not as crisp as it should it have been and made a number of mistakes.

While the Sink team did a good job of casting doubt about Rick Scott, it never really offered a coherent message that gave voters a reason to vote for Sink.

Sink should be frustrated with the White House but she also needs to look at the folks around her.

Here is Sink's interview with Politico.

Florida Democrats have nominated three centrists in a row for Governor -- two from the same household. (2002 candidate Bill McBride is Alex Sink's husband.) South Florida liberals -- the base of the party -- stayed home. Florida Democratic leadership thinks it's still 1980 and there are still conservative Democrats in the Panhandle. The days of the he-coon is over. Play to your base, Dems. Don't pander to the Panhandle.

Blaming someone else for your defeat is such an attractive personal quality
