Scott, Sink do the ugly on CNN
10/25/2010
There is no doubt that the Rick Scott vs Alex Sink debate was entertaining.
Inspiring? No.
But not a bad political brawl.
Sink lit into Scott sometimes giving better than she was getting but at times getting close to shrill.
She called Scott a liar, a fraud, and a few other choice nuggets.
Scott fired back sometimes dismissively which seemed to annoy Sink even more.
Sink seemed so annoyed during the debate that at times she lashed out at the two questioners - Adam Smith of The St. Petersburg Times and CNN's John King.
We did learn a few things. Neither knew the right answer for Florida's minimum wage ($7.25). Both think NPR was wrong to fire Juan Williams (and this matters to voters why?). Both think the oil spill was a bad thing. Both say they will not raise taxes.
Both think the other one is a liar. Not very comforting since one of them is going to be Florida's next governor.
Some more tidbits:
Scott believes abortions should be forbidden after 20 weeks because of new science about viability and fetal pain.
Sink - rather insistently - said she would not give a raise to state employees even though her campaign website suggests otherwise.
Scott regrets not having more children.
Sink has no regrets.
Sink takes newspaper endorsements very, very seriously. Today's new circulation numbers shows fewer and fewer people are reading them.
Sink Sink I don't know where that 12.5 billion comes from nothing in my plan raises taxes
"You have spent a lifetime reinventing the truth Rick." Sink
"Your tellers were paid kickbacks. Your bank was sued and you paid fines." Scott
Sink - you can't lecture me about fraud.
Scott - she has never created a private sector job in her life
Sink - I can't sit here and continue to hear Rick Scott tell lies about me
Sink - He didn't build the company he was a corporate raider.
Scott - you're a failed fiscal watchdog.
Sink - if someone tells me to do something that is illegal I won't do it.

JOHN KING SHOULD GO BACK TO HIS MAGICAL WALL THAT HE HAS SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH--I HAVE BEEN WATCHING TV DEBATES SINCE KENNEDY-NIXON WHEN I WAS A KID --THIS WAS THE WORST DEBATE I HAVE EVER SEEN BECAUSE JOHN KING LOST CONTROL FROM THE START. THC333 IN TAMPA
