Alex Sink says keep Bush tax cuts
09/07/2010
Alex Sink parted ways with President Obama and many other Democrats today when she said in Delray Beach that she favors extending the Bush tax cuts.
According to the Palm Beach Post, Sink said: “I support the extension of the Bush tax cuts because to let them expire is going to hurt our ability to get people back to work. “We need to do everything we can to put people back to work. So that’s why I support the extension of the Bush tax cuts.”
It is an interesting move. With President Obama collapsing in the polls and voters becoming increasingly convinced that Democrats can't save the economy, Sink is clearly trying to give herself some distance from the White House.
But the question remains - is this a move that helps or hurts her? She obviously believes it helps.
Of course for both the wealthy Sink and her even more wealthy Republican opponent - Rick Scott - the extension of the Bush tax cuts is not bad for their personal bottom lines.
